Service Agreement

Please take the time to read these terms and conditions.  

You will be sent a digital contract to sign, and booking means acknowledging and agreeing to all our terms and conditions outlined below.

1. SERVICES PROVIDED 

Get It Sorted Mackay provides professional home organising and moving support services, including but not limited to: 

  • Consultation and planning 

  • Decluttering and organising 

  • Implementation of functional storage systems 

  • Basic labelling 

  • Light cleaning during sessions 

  • Donation coordination (reasonable volume) 

  • Rubbish removal to Client’s household bin 

  • Small furniture assembly 

  • Pre-move packing and unpacking 

  • Space planning and home setup 

Additional services must be agreed to in writing. 

2. 30 HOUR PACKAGE 

2.1 Inclusions 

The 30 Hour Package includes: 

  • 30 hours of hands-on professional organising 

  • Sorting, categorising and decluttering 

  • System implementation 

  • Donation drop-offs (reasonable volume) 

  • Rubbish removal to Client’s bin 

  • Basic labelling 

  • Accountability and project guidance 

Storage products and packing materials are not included in the base package price. 

2.2 Usage Period 

All 30 hours must be used within 10 weeks from the first session date. Unused hours after 10 weeks are forfeited. 

2.3 Payment Terms 

  • A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure the package. 

  • A $500 storage retainer is payable upfront and credited toward storage solutions. 

  • Additional storage purchases beyond $500 will be invoiced per session and payable within 1 business day. 

2.4 Early Termination 

If the Client chooses not to continue part way through the package: 

  • No refund will be issued. 

  • Completed hours may be recalculated at the standard casual hourly rate. 

  • Any difference owing will be invoiced and payable within 5 business days. 

The 30 Hour Package is discounted based on full commitment. 

3. CASUAL ORGANISING SESSIONS 

Casual sessions are charged at the standard hourly rate advised at booking. 

Minimum booking: 4 hours per session. 

3.1 Payment 

  • 50% non-refundable deposit required to secure booking. 

  • Remaining balance payable at end of session. 

  • Storage purchases invoiced separately and payable within 1 business day. 

4. PACK & UNPACK / MOVING SERVICES 

Pack & Unpack services may include: 

  • Pre-move decluttering 

  • Categorised packing and labelling 

  • Inventory support (if requested) 

  • Coordination with removalists (if required) 

  • Unpacking and functional setup at new residence 

  • Kitchen, wardrobe and linen cupboard organisation 

  • Rubbish removal to Client’s bin 

  • Donation drop-offs (reasonable volume) 

Packing materials and storage products are not included unless agreed in writing. A $500 product/storage retainer may be required for larger move projects. 

4.1 Moving Liability 

Get It Sorted Mackay is not liable for: 

  • Damage caused by removalists 

  • Transit damage 

  • Pre-existing damage 

  • Structural or property damage not caused by negligence 

Clients are encouraged to hold appropriate contents and transit insurance. 

5. STORAGE PRODUCTS 

Storage solutions supplied by Get It Sorted Mackay incur a 30% markup per item. All storage purchases are invoiced separately and payable within 1 business day. 

6. SCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS 

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to reschedule or cancel. 

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice incurs a 50% cancellation fee. 

  • Failure to attend without notice incurs 100% of booked session fee. 

Outstanding invoices must be paid within 5 business days. Failure to pay may result in suspension of services and referral to debt collection, including a $200 administration fee. 

7. CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Client agrees to: 

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the premises 

  • Ensure utilities (electricity and water) are connected where required 

  • Be present for decision-making unless otherwise agreed 

  • Clearly identify items for donation or disposal 

  • Maintain a safe working environment 

Get It Sorted Mackay reserves the right to pause or reschedule services if conditions are deemed unsafe. 

8. DECISION-MAKING & PARTICIPATION 

The Client acknowledges that organising requires active participation and timely decision-making. 

Delays caused by indecision, unavailable access, or changes in scope may result in additional time and fees. 

9. SCOPE VARIATIONS 

Any work requested outside the originally agreed scope will be charged at the standard hourly rate. Additional areas (garages, sheds, storage units, or outdoor areas) are not included unless agreed in writing. 

10. ABANDONED OR UNCLAIMED ITEMS 

Items not clearly allocated during sessions may be boxed and labelled at organiser discretion. Get It Sorted Mackay is not responsible for items once removed for donation or disposal. 

The Client accepts responsibility for reviewing all items prior to removal. 

11. WASTE & DONATIONS 

Reasonable household waste will be placed in the Client’s bin. Excessive or commercial waste (including Mackay Waste Station commercial fees) will incur 

additional charges. Once donated items leave the premises, removal is final and irrevocable. 

12. LIABILITY 

Get It Sorted Mackay holds Public Liability Insurance. 

Reasonable care will be taken; however, the Business Owner is not responsible for accidental damage unless caused by negligence. 

13. PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING DISCLAIMER 

The Client acknowledges that decluttering and organising may involve emotional responses. Get It Sorted Mackay provides practical organising services only and does not offer therapeutic or psychological services. 

14. PRIVACY 

Client information is confidential and handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 

Photos will not be used for marketing without written consent. Consent may be withdrawn in writing at any time. 

15. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW (ACL) 

Nothing in this Agreement affects the statutory rights of the Client under the Australian Consumer Law

16. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY 

All methods, systems, diagrams, photos, and organisational plans created by Get It Sorted Mackay remain the intellectual property of the Business Owner and may not be reproduced or used for commercial purposes without written consent. 

17. CLIENT INSURANCE / VALUABLES 

The Client is responsible for insuring valuable, fragile, or high-risk items. Get It Sorted Mackay is not liable for loss, damage, or breakage of items unless caused by negligence. 

18. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of Get It Sorted Mackay for any claim arising under this Agreement is limited to the total fees paid by the Client for the relevant services. 

19. FORCE MAJEURE 

Get It Sorted Mackay shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform services due to events beyond reasonable control, including: 

  • Natural disasters or severe weather 

  • Illness or injury 

  • Government restrictions 

  • Utility failures 

Sessions will be rescheduled at the earliest mutually convenient time. 

20. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR 

Get It Sorted Mackay operates as an independent contractor. Nothing in this Agreement creates a partnership, employment, or joint venture relationship. 

21. SEVERABILITY 

If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement remains in full force and effect. 

22. ENTIRE AGREEMENT 

This Agreement represents the entire understanding between the Parties. No prior agreements, understandings, or representations are binding unless included in writing. 

23. REFUND / CREDIT POLICY FOR STORAGE PRODUCTS 

All storage products purchased on behalf of the Client are non-refundable unless faulty. Retainer payments are credited toward purchases and are non-refundable. 

24. RISK ACKNOWLEDGMENT – FRAGILE / SENTIMENTAL ITEMS 

The Client acknowledges that decluttering, packing, and organising may involve handling fragile or sentimental items. Get It Sorted Mackay exercises care but is not responsible for accidental breakage unless caused by negligence. 

25. PAYMENTS & LATE FEES 

Accepted payment methods: 

  • Direct bank transfer 

  • Cash 

  • Square (card payments) 

  • Afterpay 

Late payments incur a 10% fee from invoice date. Services may be paused until outstanding balances are settled. 

26. DISPUTE RESOLUTION 

Disputes will first be addressed through good faith negotiation. If unresolved, mediation will occur in Queensland under Queensland law. 

27. MARKETING CONSENT 

No photos, videos, or testimonials will be used for marketing purposes without prior written consent. The Client may withdraw consent at any time in writing. 

28. GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION 

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the Parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
